A single company on the route
On Toulon–Ajaccio, our readings of 17 August 2026 return a single company: Corsica Ferries. For each of the four profiles we track, every fare recorded carries that same company; no other appears on this route, so there is no shared-ship gap to weigh. The comparison that matters here is not between companies, but between months, between days of the week and between departure ports. According to Corsica Ferries, the route is served by daily departures all year round, by day and by night, in about 9 hours by day and about 11 hours by night.
November 2026 at the bottom for foot passengers, August 2026 at the peak
For a foot passenger in a reclining seat, the cheapest month on average is November 2026, at €33.51, with a monthly floor of €30.60 on 27 November 2026. The most expensive month on average is August 2026, at €43.71. Just behind November come December 2026 (€35.79 on average) and October 2026 (€35.34): the bottom of the table belongs to autumn and early winter.
September 2026 slots in next, at €36.74 on average for a floor of €30.00. Then comes a tight step in which three months hold within less than a euro of each other: March 2027 (€38.81), January 2027 (€39.81) and February 2027 (€40.00). Those three months share exactly the same minimum, €39.00, as does April 2027 (€38.00): at the far end of the window, prices stop moving.
The behaviour changes as soon as a car and a cabin are added, but the three motorised formulas then follow the same calendar: lowest average in October 2026, highest average in April 2027. For an adult with a car and a cabin, the trough sits at €135.77 on average (from €103.00) against €164.83 at the peak; for two adults, €163.68 (from €126.00) against €197.00; for two adults, two children, a car and a cabin, €207.74 (from €166.00) against €245.60. The foot passenger is the only one to pay the peak in August 2026: as soon as a car enters the package, the maximum shifts to April 2027.
The foot-passenger floor in late October 2026, the motorised floors in September 2026 and May 2027
The lowest fare in our readings for a foot passenger falls on Wednesday 28 October 2026, at €27.50 — a month before the trough of the averages, which belongs to November 2026. Next come €28.20 on Friday 23 October 2026, €30.00 on Sunday 27 September 2026 and €30.00 on Monday 14 December 2026. Three days then share the same price, €30.00: Tuesday 20 October 2026, Monday 28 September 2026 and Monday 26 October 2026, before €30.60 on Wednesday 23 September 2026. The eight cheapest dates all fall in September and October 2026, from €27.50 to €30.60, and four of them are Wednesdays.
The accompanied vehicle does not find its floor at the same moment depending on how many passengers travel. For an adult with a car and a cabin, the cheapest date is Monday 17 May 2027, at €94.03, shadowed by €99.00 on Sunday 6 September 2026. For two and for four, the minimum shifts to Monday 17 May 2027: €96.03 for two adults, €100.03 for two adults and two children. For the family, the next two readings come out level, at €120.03, on Saturday 15 May 2027 and Sunday 16 May 2027: isolated days that are not enough to make May 2027 a cheap month on average. Across the whole window, the averages by profile work out at €38.79 for the foot passenger, €150.91 for a motorised adult, €180.86 for two and €227.06 for the family.
Wednesday the cheapest across all four profiles, Saturday the dearest
By departure day, the four profiles agree. For the foot passenger, Wednesday is the cheapest, at €37.13 on average, ahead of Tuesday (€37.79) and Monday (€38.47); Saturday brings up the rear at €41.05, just behind Sunday (€40.00). With a car and a cabin, Wednesday wins for one adult (€146.33), for two (€175.17) and for the family (€220.26), with Thursday next in line each time (€152.35, €182.23 and €227.26). Saturday is the dearest day of the seven on those three profiles, at €155.78, €187.18 and €234.47; it is the dearest on foot too. The departure day therefore does not reverse the ranking from one profile to the next, unlike the calendar of the cheapest dates.
Leaving from another port for Ajaccio
To reach Ajaccio, Toulon is the cheapest departure port among those recorded, at the minimum as on average: from €27.50 for a departure on 28 October 2026, and €38.79 on average. Nice starts at €32.00 on 22 August 2026 (€33.50 on average, Corsica Ferries), Marseille at €34.92 on 23 August 2026 (€39.98 on average, with La Méridionale) and Sète at €36.00 on 29 September 2026 (€39.00 on average, Corsica Ferries). Sète carries the highest entry price of the four ports, but its average places it second, ahead of Nice and Marseille: the two metrics do not rank the ports in the same order.
On a foot-passenger round trip, the combination recorded pairs the 28 October 2026 outbound at €27.50 with the 27 November 2026 return at €29.00, for €56.50 in total, both legs with Corsica Ferries.
What these readings cover
These amounts relate to observed crossings, aggregated as of 17 August 2026. The departures recorded run from August 2026 to June 2027; July 2027 is not recorded to date. The three car-and-cabin formulas hold their lowest monthly average in October 2026 and their highest in April 2027, but their best dates sit elsewhere: 17 May 2027 for the solo adult, 17 May 2027 for the couple as for the family.
