Nice–Bastia: what our readings show
On the Nice–Bastia route, a single company appears in our readings of 17 August 2026: Corsica Ferries. It carries the fares of the four profiles tracked, from the foot passenger in a reclining seat to the family of four with a car and a cabin; no other company serves Bastia from Nice in our readings. The choice is therefore not about the company, but about the date and the departure port. According to Corsica Ferries, the crossing takes between 6 and 8 hours depending on the ship, largely by day, with night departures also offered; boarding takes place 30 minutes before departure on foot, 1 hour with a vehicle.
August 2026 at the peak, September 2026 at the floor
For a foot passenger in a reclining seat, the recorded window runs from August to October 2026. August 2026 opens at the highest level, €51.13 on average, with a floor of €36.20 on 27 August 2026. September 2026 posts the lowest average of the window, €39.16, and carries the lowest price recorded on the route as well, €30.00, on 18 September 2026. October 2026 climbs back to €39.16 on average, for a floor of €31.00 on 22 October 2026.
With a car and a cabin, the same order holds: August 2026 the heaviest, September 2026 the lightest on average. For one adult, the average moves from €153.83 in August to €138.20 in September, then climbs back to €129.57 in October; its lowest reading, €95.00, falls on Sunday 13 September 2026. For two adults, the average follows the same path, from €187.83 to €167.50 then €159.14, and the lowest price, €123.00, falls on that same day. For two adults and two children, the lowest average is September's again, €203.71, against €236.83 in August, but its minimum, €188.00, shifts to Friday 18 September 2026.
Thursday or Friday at the bottom, Saturday at the top
For the foot passenger in a reclining seat, Tuesday is the cheapest day on average, €34.06, ahead of Friday at €44.30 and Tuesday at €34.00; Sunday follows at €46.94, Monday at €48.67, and Monday brings up the rear at €45.45.
With a car and a cabin, the trough changes day with the size of the group: Tuesday for one adult (€141.80), Tuesday for two adults (€171.67) as for two adults and two children (€215.67), with Thursday just behind on those two packages (€171.20 and €216.40). The top of the range does not move: Saturday peaks on all three packages, at €147.80, €183.00 and €240.40, ahead of Tuesday (€129.00, €153.00 and €193.00).
The cheapest dates
For the foot passenger in a reclining seat, Friday 18 September 2026 carries the lowest price recorded, €30.00, ahead of Friday 25 September 2026 at €30.90. Two dates then share the same price, €31.00: Thursday 22 October 2026 and Thursday 10 September 2026. Then come €33.20 on Thursday 24 September 2026, €34.00 on Tuesday 27 October 2026, €34.20 on Sunday 20 September 2026, then €35.20 on Saturday 31 October 2026. Five of these eight dates fall in September 2026, two in October, one in August.
With a car and a cabin, September 2026 monopolises the top of the ranking. For one adult, Sunday 13 September 2026 holds the floor, €95.00, ahead of Friday 18 September 2026 at €115.00 and Thursday 22 October 2026 at €115.00. For two adults, the same two dates open the ranking, at €123.00 then €142.00. For two adults and two children, the hierarchy changes: Friday 18 September 2026 moves to first place at €188.00, ahead of Thursday 22 October 2026 at €188.00, and the date that leads the two other packages, 13 September 2026, no longer figures among its eight best readings.
As a foot-passenger return trip, our readings give an outward leg on 22 October 2026 at €31.00 and a return on 31 October 2026 at €28.00, Corsica Ferries in both directions, that is €59.00 for the two legs.
Leaving from another port for Bastia
From Nice, the foot passenger in a reclining seat leaves from €30.00 (€42.84 on average). Three ports go lower at the minimum, all via Corsica Ferries: Savona from €21.03 (€39.67 on average), Livorno from €27.13 (€40.10) and Toulon from €30.00 (€39.58). Behind Nice come Piombino from €28.00 (€37.50) and Sète, at €41.00 as a minimum and on average alike, also via Corsica Ferries. Marseille only drops to €46.37 via Corsica Linea (€60.93 on average) and Genoa to €40.75 via Moby Lines (€48.71).
On average, the ranking reshuffles: Toulon (€39.58) moves ahead of Livorno (€40.10) and Sète (€41.00), Nice climbs back to fourth (€42.84), ahead of Savona (€39.67) and Piombino (€37.50); Genoa (€48.71) and Marseille (€60.93) bring up the rear. The port with the lowest entry price, Livorno, is therefore not the one with the lowest average, Toulon.
